Sometimes, it is precisely when we are not allowed to speak that we have the most to say.
This painting was created during a situation in which I was forced to remain silent while everything inside me was burning. The yellow and orange burst across the canvas like anger that could not be expressed in words, while the black line across the mouth turns the silence itself into part of the portrait.
When I couldn’t speak - I painted.

When handling an unframed or unstretched canvas, use clean, dry hands and avoid touching or applying pressure to the painted surface.
