The Story
Tulum
Tulum - This painting is a kind of self-portrait of a moment when I wanted to hide.
The mask represents the place I sheltered behind - a protective layer that allowed me to appear strong on the outside, while emotions and words I didn’t know how to express were building up within me.
The hands opening the figure reveal an entire world hidden beneath the surface, along with the desire for someone to see beyond the mask, not necessarily to solve or fix anything, but simply to listen to what lies within.
This painting is about the gap between what we choose to show the world and what we quietly hope someone will notice.
